PodcastOne Officially Launches The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution

The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution

Minneapolis, MN - March 21, 2017 - In association with PodcastOne, PodcastOne Minnesota and 1500 ESPN Twin Cities, Studio Dog Productions announces the addition of The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution Podcast to the PodcastOne family.

The show will feature the worlds of action and alternative sports. Showcasing those behind the sport, the athletes and the sport itself, The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution looks to give listeners an inside look at the other sports outside of the 'Big 4' (baseball, football, basketball and hockey).

The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution, with host Michael 'Hunter' Nordquist, was originally launched in January of 2017 on 1500ESPN.com via SoundCloud. Hunter is a radio veteran in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market, having worked at Active Rock station KXXR-FM 93X in the early 2000's, and more recently, a 5 year stint at KSTP-AM 1500 ESPN Twin Cities. The first two episodes featured the sport of SnoCross, and contained interviews with ISOC (International Series of Champions) President Carl Schubitzki and a two-part candid interview with 14-time X Games SnoCross legend Tucker Hibbert.

"Minnesota is a huge market for action and alternative sports. But, I don't think they get the recognition they deserve. These sports have a huge following of passionate fans and they hardly get mentioned. That's why we're doing this.", said Hunter a native of Minnesota, growing up in Park Rapids. "I'm super excited for the Summer X Games coming to Minneapolis in 2017 and 2018. It's a huge opportunity for the rest of the world to take note of everything we have to offer in our state, and for the people around here to go out and try something new. I think if you live in a place too long, life gets in the way and you start to take for granted everything your area has to offer, until someone on the outside points it out to you." He goes on to say, "With this show, I really hope to inspire people to step outside of the box and find their passion. Or at least, open their minds to knew experiences. Join a martial arts class. Go watch some races. Learn to skate, ski or bike. Or even chase that dream of being a pro wrestler. Just take life in."

To coincide with the launch on PodcastOne, a new episode featuring the young sport of Ice Cross Downhill was released. The episode features the fastest sport on skates and candid interviews with some of the sport's top competitors in Maxwell Dunne, Dylan Moriarity, Dean Moriarity and two-time World Ice Cross Champion Cameron Naasz.

The Action & Alternative Sports Revolution is currently available for streaming and download through 1500espn.com, and through RSS feeds on PodcastOne and on iTunes.
